JK Veluswamy, the Southwest Georgia Director for the Emory Prevention Research Center (EPRC), directs the Cancer Coalition's partnership with the EPRC. Ms. Veluswamy has lived and worked in southwest Georgia since 1994 and brings to her current position over 20 years experience in community program development and implementation serving a variety of populations. With expertise in sociology and public health, her past efforts have been in the areas of chronic disease prevention and early detection, community-based coalitions and partnership building, addiction recovery, domestic violence, community assessment and planning, and youth development. Ms. Veluswamy is a trained facilitator with interest and experience in organizational strategic planning and program implementation and evaluation.
