Every hour of every day, five people in Georgia are diagnosed with cancer. Every hour of every day, two people in Georgia die from this frightening disease.
For the price you might pay for lunch, the Southwest Georgia Cancer Coalition is giving you the opportunity to help fight cancer in southwest Georgia. For just $10, you can help further cancer education, research, screening and outreach, and in return receive items and coupons valued at $30 donated by local businesses.
“This fundraising campaign gives us the opportunity to emphasize that cancer doesn’t take a break from affecting people’s lives,” said Amanda Williams, Development Coordinator for the Cancer Coalition. “For what you might pay for a lunch, you can get a great lunchbox packed with coupons and snacks from generous area businesses and help fight cancer at the same time. Every dollar donated stays in southwest Georgia.”
Included in the insulated lunchboxes are coupons from Chick-fil-A, Moe’s, Blackbeard’s, Chilis, Carino’s Italian, and Sonic, as well as bottled water and crackers provided by Buffalo Rock Pepsi. The lunchboxes were donated by 4Imprint through their One-By-One charitable giving program.
A special Know The Facts About Cancer newsletter and other informational handouts are also included.
The lunchboxes are available through Southwest Georgia Cancer Coalition volunteers and at the Cancer Coalition office located at 2332 Lake Park Drive, Albany. Call 229-312-1700 or visit www.swgacancer.org for more information.
